Understanding Drying and Curing
Drying is the first step in the process, removing moisture from freshly harvested cannabis. It's crucial for both safety and quality. Curing further preserves the cannabis and enhances its flavor.
Drying
The drying process typically takes 7-10 days. Hang buds in a well-ventilated, cool, and dark room with a temperature of 60-70°F (15-21°C) and a humidity level of 45-55%. Ensure they don't touch each other to prevent mold.
Curing
Curing involves sealing the dried buds in airtight containers with a paper towel to absorb excess moisture. This process lasts 2-3 weeks. It's important to open the containers regularly to release excess CO2 and check for mold or moisture.
